To me it sounds like everyone is in the "friend zone" and they don't want to except it. I would go for it, if you like the man, don't let anyone or anything stop you. If your friends gets mad, I wouldn't worry to much because if they were a true friend, they would be happy for you even if they are heartbroken. I have been in love with this guy from high school, and my best friend knew about it. I was in the "friend zone" I tried my best to get out of it, and I did. But then my Best friend told him that she had feelings for him. He and her are now married. I was upset for a while, but I told her that if he makes her happy and if she wants to be with him, then to go for it. I loved the man, but my best friend deserved to be happy. I'm there for her whenever she needs me. So if they get mad at you, I know they will get over it. Don't let the different grade stop you either. If you and him are meant to be it will happen. Just take things slow and talk to him about it. Don't worry about others liking him either, because that way you know that your man is good looking and you scored a good looking man and a man that treats you well.
